That moment…
… when you can finally pick up your bike from the garage.

Had to wait weeks before the spare parts were delivered. Big minus for Aprilia, unfortunaly.

Nine years ago i was on a classtrip in London. After visiting some tourist traps, we were all walking through the streets, when abruptly a deep sounding KTM Supermoto passed by. The single-cylinder-sound was so intense, that almost every boy was starring at the bike with the mouth with open. Since this moment my friend always wanted such a bike. Some weeks ago the big moment finally came, he bought himself a KTM 625 SMC.

Some days ago, we joked around a littlebit with the hot austrian export :)

The ultimate solution for boredom !

The ultimate solution for boredom !

Its already about 10 years ago for sure. But i just found these photos again on my hardrive and had to upload them. It was a usual saturday, my buddies and we driving around with the small Yamaha. Inspired by stupid and unrealistic bike scenes in movies, like James Bond (this one with the BMW R1200 C)  or “Cool as ice” we decided to try also motobike jumping. I grabbed the wheelloader and built a small ramp. Then we did it like this: We startet with a short run-up. All of us had to drive, i was the first one who started. With every round we increased the lenghth of the run-up. After a while we really started to fly a littlebit. But of course it was not enough. We started a new round with quite long run-up. I was the first one to test it (and the last one). During the acceleration i felt how long it was (too long), i made it till the fourth gear, which felt pretty fast on the grass with that kind of bike. But you will never stop to hit the throttle when your buddies are looking at you. At this point i have to als to mention that the bike has no front wheel brake… I hitted the ramp… i cant remember anymore how long my flight was. I only remember that it was fullfilled by fear. Too late i realized that i am running out of brake space after landing, there was just not enough room to slow down safely. It ended in a closecall. With “full-force” i hitted the fence. Fortunaly the high handlebar took the upper wire away from me. Otherwise it would have ended different. The pressure of the wire was so strong, that the bike was standing stable without sidestand. Lesson learned.

Best of the 90’s sportbikes (>750ccm)

This post is especially for a special person who can’t wait to own the first bike. When you’re young and just made your licence there are certainly a lot of expenses before you are ready to hit the streets. First of all a big bill for the licence and addtion all the costs for the riding gear you need. But above all it is the question which bike you want to ride and which one you can get for a good value. If you are in love with sport bikes, this few could motocycles could be an option.

Enjoy :)
